The Vacation Guide

After a long cold winter, it seems that a pleasant summer vacation is just around the corner.  Many of you have already booked your trip, and are fully prepared to get away from the daily toils that consumes your live. For those of you who haven’t booked your trip yet, ‘What Are You Waiting For?’, get your trip booked immediately, or you’ll be left with your packed suitcases and nowhere to go. Remember, there are millions of people waiting to push ahead of you to get that sought after ticket to paradise, and unless you beat them to it, they will take it from you.

Summer vacations are what great memories are made of, and you will no doubt create many new ones this year. It doesn’t matter what type of vacation suits you best, whether you are looking for a cottage retreat or a beach stay at your favorite resort, vacations are what you make of it. Since each vacation is unique, you need to know how to pack for it, take advantage of the numerous online resources to help you pack right. The best way to pack is to know what type of weather you are expecting,  is it hot and humid or hot and dry, or perhaps it’s hot at day and cold at night, you need to know this in advance so that you pack your luggage correctly.  It’s important that you get all the facts so that you are prepared in advance and don’t end up using your spending money to purchase items while on vacation, it can be very costly.  You should also have plenty of sunscreen and don’t forget your sunglasses if you are planning on a beach vacation, there’s nothing worse than a nasty sunburn to destroy your time in paradise. For those of you who are planning a camping trip, don’t forget bug spray, and make sure that you’ve got something to keep you dry like a poncho, being wet and mosquito bitten will turn a great trip into a disaster.

If you are traveling internationally, you need to have medical insurance and Auto Insurance if you’re driving, although we don’t like to think about accidents, they do happen and at least you will be financially protected, the bills can and do add up so it’s better spending a little now rather than a lot later. It’s also wise to carry identification like a drivers license or an ID card, even if you are not driving, it can be a great help in rather unpleasant circumstances. Also, don’t forget to provide a family member at home with your complete itinerary before heading out on your vacation. Make sure that someone knows where you are, and where you are planning on being during your vacation, and do not stray from your itinerary unless you notify someone of your intentions.

I realize that much of what I’ve mentioned aren’t things that most of us like to consider, but it is important that you do. Be prepared and you will be better off for it. We hope you have a great summer vacation and wish you a safe and pleasant trip.
