Travel Packing is one of those activities that some people love to do, while others hate intensely. And people love or hate to pack their travel bags for many different reasons, but the fact is that you can pack smarter regardless of your feelings about travel packing. I have outlined 5 Easy Packing Tips that will make your travel packing a better one.

Travel Packing Tip #1: Make A Checklist Of All Items In The Suitcase: This is the most important step in packing your suitcase as it will help you keep track of your belongings. The checklist is useful in telling you which suitcase contains a specific item, as well as making sure that you haven’t forgotten anything on your trip. It’s much easier to add an item to a checklist than to open a perfectly packed suitcase and rummage through it. Keep the checklist in a place that it’s not likely to get lost but is easily accessible, like the suitcase pocket.

Travel Packing Tip #2: Use Your Suitcase Space Wisely. Do not leave empty pockets or gaps in the suitcase. That means not only should you be using every pocket in your suitcase, but also to use the space in your shoes and containers to put things in, just don’t forget where you’ve put your things.

Travel Packing Tip #3: Learn To Fold Clothes. Folding clothes properly will both help you conserve space in the suitcase as well as keeping your suitcase organized. It’s surprising how many people find the act of folding clothes difficult but it doesn’t have to be difficult. There are many online tutorials that will help you fold clothes properly, just like the clothing boutiques do. Take the time to learn to fold clothes and you will be rewarded many times over.

Travel Packing Tip #4: Pack Tightly. Everything in the suitcase should be packed as tightly as you can, do not let the items in your suitcase move around freely. There are many reasons for packing a suitcase tightly such as, reducing the weight shifting, breaking fragile items, spilling liquids and wrinkling/damaging clothing. These are all reasons enough to pack your suitcase as tight as you can.

Travel Packing Tip #5: Place Items Often used Items On Top. Keeping the items that you will be using more frequently, therefore immediately on top means that you won’t spend your time rummaging through your suitcase, disturbing the order of the items needlessly. If you want t be meticulous about it, you can even pack according to your trip so that everything is stored based on events. Sure, this is a little bit of advance work, but it will save you much time later.

These 5 Travel Packing Tips will make your trip run much smoother. It all comes down to being organized and efficient, traits that anyone and everyone can learn with enough time and patience. The rewards of packing right cannot be understated, because a suitcase that is packed right will save you time and money and frustration.

Many of you will be will be making the decision to travel overseas this year. Overseas travel can be a lot of fun and a great adventure too, especially when you consider all the unique cultural opportunities awaiting you. Overseas travel differs greatly from local travel because it often puts you outside of your comfort zone, with different languages to learn, and customs to consider, overseas travel can open up a new world of possibilities. Other things to consider while on your Overseas adventure is the food, music, accommodation, religion etc. There are just so many things that will keep your vacation fresh, and the more adventurous you are the more rewards await you.

Before you commit to travelling overseas, you need to plan and organize. The following are a few tips that will help you do that.

Your Route: It s important that you’ve got a well planned route and that you stick to it. Overseas travel often involves a very limited time frame, and any time wasted is will detract from your vacation experience.

Plan Your Itinerary/Budget: Make sure that you’ve got your Itinerary planned out. You’ll want to know when the check in times are at the hotel, the locations of restaurants, entertainment, sight-seeing, tours etc. Doing this in advance will not only make your vacation a more enjoyable one, it will also help save you money since you will be dealing with less unexpected issues as they may arise.

Bring Adequate Supplies: You need to know what type of climate and environment you are travelling in and be prepared. If you are expecting a lot of walking on your travels, then a good pair of walking shoes is vital to you having a good time. Don’t forget sunscreen, bug repellent, rain coat and boots, a money belt/fanny pack, hats etc. The key is to be prepared for the travel environment, and that each place you visit may offer special demands. Remember, being comfortable on your vacation will make your experience a more enjoyable one.

Luggage or Backpacks: Understand what type of carrying bags you require. Would it be more handy to use a backpack or luggage? This is very important as each trip will be different. If you are planning on walking a lot, a backpack is the only way to travel, on the other hand, if you are planning on staying a a resort, then luggage will be much more convenient. Remember to attach a colored tag to your bags so that you can easily identify them at the airport.

Have Fun: It’s important not to over-plan, you’ll want to set some time aside for relaxing and enjoying the ambiance of your travels. Don’t be afraid to change your itinerary for convenience if it will make your stay more enjoyable. Ultimately, it all comes down to you having a good time.

This year, an overseas travel experience may be what you need so don’t be afraid to enjoy a vacation in a new unfamiliar place, life is too short not to enjoy yourself.

Europe is a top world travel destination attracting millions of travelers from around the world annually. There are many reasons why European vacations are so popular, whether it be Europe’s unique history, Castles and Palaces, easy going lifestyle, beach life, food and culture. In Europe, there is always something new mixed in with the old, and because of this, there are many cities and countries just waiting to be explored. You could spend a lifetime traveling across Europe and always find something new to see and do, there is just so much that Europe can offer. But in order to take advantage of the abundance available on a European Vacation, it is important that you plan your trip right. A well planned trip means that you are an active participant on your travels, and not a lost meandering tourist with no where to go. Best of all, when you plan your trip correctly, you will not only have a better time, but you will also save more money.

As mentioned on an earlier post ‘Traveling? Don’t Forget Your Travel Guides’, you will need a travel guide to get started. There are many European Travel guides that will assist you in planning your itinerary, and therefore travel guides are a must on any European Vacation. Your next task is to purchase a map of the country or countries that you are planning to visit. Although travel guides often have maps included, they are usually too small and inadequate for your European Journey, make sure you’ve got a folding tourist map that includes a list of all the special sites and scenic points on your journey, these maps pay for themselves many times over and therefore worth the money. Using your folding map, plot all of the points of interest that you are planning on visiting, and stick to it. A general rule is to make the hotel or hostel that you are staying at as the starting point and then plan your trip from there. It’s a great idea to do a little of everything, and not to get stuck on one thing, for example, if all you do is travel from one scenic point to another you will become bored quickly. So be sure to add social venues into your itinerary, such as restaurants, famous hotels or city tours, museums and cafes, remember variety is the spice of life, but don’t over-do this either. Remember, you are on vacation so it’s a good idea to slow down and enjoy your surroundings, you’ll be amazed at how much there is to see if you slow down for a few hours per day. The rule of thumb is to plan for some down time throughout the day, perhaps a few hours in the morning, afternoon and evening, and remember to keep the experience fresh, you are a tourist and this is the time to act like one.

With your route planned out in advance, you will find that everything will flow much easier, and best of all you will have a great time because you will avoid many of the pitfalls that other tourists who haven’t planned ahead make. Planning your European Vacation is an intelligent thing to do, and you will be glad that you took the time because your European Trip will be the best ever.

When planning your vacation to a country that you are unfamiliar with, questions will no doubt arise. You may have questions about crime rates and local customs, or you may want to know more about a resort or hotel. Perhaps you are curious about the food, or hygiene, the questions are non-ending but finding the answers can often leave you stumped. The following is a list of 5 resources that you can tap into to help you find more information about your vacation destination.

Friends & Family: Ask your friends and family, they are usually the best resources available. If they are unfamiliar with the country that you are traveling to, they may know someone who is. Friends and family are great resources because they often want what’s best for you and will give you the best advice possible, based on their personal experience of a travel destination.

The Internet: One of the benefits of the Internet is that it allows people to collaborate and share ideas. There are thousands of websites, discussion forums, blogs and so on written by people who will be of great help to you. Many websites also include a comments area where people can offer their advice on travel destinations that they’ve visited, and this can be very useful to you, often you can find the best hotels or hostels as well as the best places to visit and which ones to avoid. Be sure to visit at least 5 to 10 websites and Travel discussion forums so that you can get as many viewpoints on a subject as possible.

Travel Agents:Travel agents are a very useful resource because the agent has access to numerous travelers who may have traveled the country or resort that you are planning on visiting. Travel agents are looking for repeat visitors, and therefore will try to provide as much accurate information as possible, and that makes their advice invaluable.

Tourist Offices: Tourist offices can help you in finding the best locations to sight-see as well as directing you to the most touristic parts of a city. And since the tourist office is located in the country you are planning on visiting, they can also assist you in avoiding places unsafe for tourists.

Your Nations Consulate: If you are planning on traveling off the beaten path, your nation’s consulate is a very important resource. Your consulate will provide you with invaluable information as it relates to potential political crisis, disease, wars and so on, so be sure to contact them in advance.
